Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) Legal Basis

RCW 38.52.91 superceded RCW 38.52.90 and was enacted while the EMAC was being staffed by the States.

The expectation was, at that time, that our Governor would be able to join the Compact.

In the US Congress the language was changed.

The EMAC bill, when enacted, required individual state legislative approval.
