  • America's Promise - America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth, led by General Colin L. Powell. To mobilize people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of our nation's youth by fulfilling Five Promises for young people: Ongoing relationships with caring adults in their lives - parents, mentors, tutors, or coaches; Safe places with structured activities during nonschool hours; Healthy start and future; Marketable skills through effective education; and Opportunities to give back through community service.
  • America's Second Harvest - The nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization. Through a network of over 200 food banks and food-rescue programs, distribute food to 26 million hungry Americans each year, eight million of whom are children.
  • American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - Committed to alleviating pain, fear and suffering in all animals. The ASPCA is the oldest humane organization in America, and one of the largest hands-on animal welfare organizations in the world. The ASPCA believes that humans have the ability and the responsibility to provide all animals in our society with an existence that is as peaceful and respectful as possible.
  • American Baptist Churches - Baptists are proud of their heritage and eager to meet the challenges of being a people of God in a spiritually and physically needy world.
  • American Friends Service Committee - The American Friends Service Committee is a Quaker organization which includes people of various faiths who are committed to social justice, peace and humanitarian service. Its work is based on the belief in the worth of every person, and faith in the power of love to overcome violence and injustice.
  • American Red Cross (Also, the Washington state Red Cross chapters) - A humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
  • American Rescue Team - The American Rescue Team International (ARTI), an internationally recognized humanitarian rescue organization operating within the framework of the Geneva Convention and Protocols. Our purpose is to save lives, reduce suffering and to assist in the reduction of the devastating aftermath caused by catastrophic events (a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation).
  • AmeriCares - A nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization, providing immediate response to emergency medical needs -- and supporting long-term healthcare programs -- for all people around the world, irrespective of race, creed or political persuasion. Financial contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations are used to defray the cost of AmeriCares' programs.
  • Amurt - (Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team) is one of the few private voluntary organizations of Third World origin, being founded in India in 1965. Its original objective was to help meet the needs of victims of disasters that regularly hit the Indian sub-continent. Over the years AMURT has established teams in eighty countries, to create a network that can meet development and disaster needs almost anywhere in the world. In 1985 we broadened our goals to include long-term development.

  • Catholic Charities USA - Disaster Response Office - Catholic Charities helps when a disaster strikes. With agencies that serve most communities in the United States, we are well-positioned to plan for and respond to disaster with speed, reliability, and a long-term commitment. 
  • Catholic Relief Services - Catholic Relief Services gives assistance based on need, regardless of creed, race or nationality to people in more than 80 countries around the world.
  • Christian Appalachian Project - An interdenominational, non-profit Christian organization committed to serving people in need in Appalachia by providing physical, spiritual and emotional support through a wide variety of programs and services.
  • Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) - Week of Compassion is the Disciples disaster and emergency program ministry, a primary part of which is linked with Church World Service and "One Great Hour of Sharing."
  • Christian Disaster Response International - An interdenominational disaster relief program of the American Evangelical Christian Church, General Conference.
  • Christian Reformed World Relief Committee - A Christian non-profit agency with programs in North America and in over 30 countries world-wide, working with people and their communities to create permanent, positive change in Christ's name through development, relief, and education.
  • Church of the Brethren - Emergency Response - Our mission is to rebuild and to care for people where floods, tornados, earthquakes and other natural and man-made disasters have struck.

  • Church World Service - Emergency Response Office - The relief and development agency of the of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A. Church World Service (CWS), partners in more than 80 countries to help people move beyond poverty and powerlessness. CWS is 35 Protestant, Anglican, and Orthodox communions in the U.S., cooperating worldwide in programs of social and economic development, emergency response, assistance to refugees, mission relationship and witness, education and advocacy. 
  • Council on American-Islamic Relations, Inc. New York Chapter - A nonprofit, grassroots membership organization dedicated to presenting an Islamic perspective on issues of importance to the American public. In offering that perspective, CAIR seeks to empower the Muslim community in America through political and social activism. 
  • Craft Emergency Relief Fund  - Provides immediate support to professional craftspeople facing career threatening emergencies such as fire, theft, illness and natural disaster.

  • Disabled American Veterans - Dedicated to one, single purpose: building better lives for all of our nation's disabled veterans and their families. This mission is carried forward by: Providing free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs and other agencies of government; Providing outreach concerning its program services to the American people generally, and to disabled veterans and their families specifically; Representing the interests of disabled veterans, their families, their widowed spouses and their orphans before Congress, the White House and the Judicial Branch, as well as state and local government; Extending DAV's mission of hope into the communities where these veterans and their families live through a network of state-level Departments and local Chapters; and Providing a structure through which disabled veterans can express their compassion for their fellow veterans through a variety of volunteer programs. 
  • Disaster Relief Communications Foundation - The DRCF is a very small registered charity, established in 1989. It's Dozen or so members are private individuals, unpaid volunteers, who put their professional communications skills to use for the benefit of the Humanitarian Aid community.

  • Emergency Response/Service Ministries - Disaster Response - Volunteers to clean up debris and repair or rebuild homes in the aftermath of a disaster. Disaster Child Care - national network of trained persons who comfort children in traumatic disaster situations. Material resources - Annually ship clothing, self-help kits, blankets and medical supplies to more than 90 countries. Refugee Resettlement - Assists refugees through sponsorship, advocacy and education.
  • Episcopal Relief and Development - (Formerly the Presiding Bishops Fund of the Episcopal Church) - is the collective response of Episcopalians to help people in need. Through grants for emergency relief, rehabilitation and development, ERD responds to people in need in the US and around the world.
  • Evangelical Lutheran Church in America - (ELCA) Disaster Response is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, coordinated through the Division for Church in Society (DCS) or the Division for Global Mission (DGM). Following a major disaster in some area of the world, the ELCA seeks to minister to the urgent needs of those who have suffered. Funds are used for restoration of life and structures damaged or destroyed by major disasters such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, famine, and political and/or military conflict.

  • Feed the Children - A nonprofit, Christian, charitable organization providing physical, spiritual, educational, vocational/technical, psychological, economic and medical assistance and other necessary aid to children, families, and persons in need in the United States and internationally.
  • FireDonations - To assist those who have been adversely affected by fire. Though no amount of money can replace what has been destroyed by fire, financial gifts can help ease the hardships that it brings. Fire Donations is a Washington State Non Profit Corporation. FireDonations is owned, operated, and maintained by professional firefighters in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Friends Disaster Service - FDS provides cleanup and rebuilding assistance to disaster victims. This free service is provided without regard to race, creed, gender, or religious affiliation. However, particular attention is paid to elderly, handicapped, low income, and uninsured persons.

  • InterAction - (American Council for Voluntary International Action) - is a coalition of over 150 US-based non-profits working to promote human dignity and development in 165 countries around the world. In the US, we call these groups "private and voluntary organizations," or PVOs. InterAction's diverse membership is active in programs to ease human suffering and to strengthen people's abilities to help themselves. InterAction coordinates and promotes these activities and helps to ensure that goals are met in an ethical and cost-efficient manner.
  • Interchurch Medical Assistance, Inc. - An association of 12 US Protestant relief and development organizations. Overseas emergency, health and development, and disease control programs.
  • International Committee of the Red Cross - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

  • Presbyterian Disaster Assistance - Enables congregations and mission partners to help communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic events. It is part of the Worldwide Ministries Division of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and is administered under the direction of the Global Service and Witness work area.

  • REACT International - A public service organization comprised of private radio operators serving travelers and their communities alike with radio communications.  Member volunteers are dedicating to improving their communities by providing voluntary, two-way communications.
  • ReDo - Reuse Development Organization - To promote reuse as an environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economical means for managing surplus and discarded materials.
  • RedR - An international charity with offices around the globe working to relieve suffering in disasters by selecting, training, and providing competent and effective relief personnel to humanitarian aid agencies world-wide. Their site provides  information about the agency, newsletters, publications, and access to the library..
  • Reformed Church in America - Provides emergency relief to disaster victims and others in need of immediate assistance, participating in rehabilitation for people who have lost their homes and jobs, encouraging development of long-term solutions to overcome the problem of hunger and poverty, and seeking justice through advocacy on behalf of poor and needy people.
  • Relief Net - A non-profit organization dedicated to helping humanitarian organizations raise global awareness and encourage support for relief efforts via the Internet.
  • Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - We seek to make a difference in a world where far too many are poor and hungry. Our three-fold mission is to support a program of ministries to hungry persons throughout the world by funding agencies and projects seeking to provide relief and release, educating about hunger-related issues, and encouraging individual church members to advocate with governmental representatives on behalf of the hungry.

  • Salvation Army (Western Territory) - Cash Donations 1-800-SAL ARMY (1-800-725-2769) - Whether it is a local incident or a major disaster, The Salvation Army relief staff and volunteers are often the first on the scene and are some of the last to leave. In most communities in America, The Salvation Army is already at work providing needed assistance with our programs, honoring a century-old commitment to serve those in need at the time of need and at the place of need.
  • Scientology Volunteer Ministers - For more than 30 years, in more than 150 nations, and on a strictly volunteer basis, Scientology Volunteer Ministers have brought effective solutions to bear on the problems, large and small, of the world. Working in coordination with other volunteer ministers of all faiths, Scientology Volunteer Ministers have provided assistance to refugee camps in Kosovo, to earthquake victims in Kobe, Japan and to survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing. Since 1995, Volunteer Ministers have been instrumental in helping people recover from no less than 28 natural and man-made disasters across the world.   • Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Provides volunteer person-to-person service to those in need, without regard to color, race, or creed. Some emergency assistance is usually provided by parish conferences. Many councils operate stores, homeless shelters, and feeding facilities that are similar to those run by the Salvation Army. The stores' merchandise--clothing, household appliances, furniture, etc.--can be made available to disaster victims. Warehousing facilities could be used for storing and sorting donated merchandise during the emergency period.
  • Southern Baptist Convention - North American Mission Board - Southern Baptist disaster relief is Christian love in action, meeting urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis situations. Disaster response is meeting those needs with loving care and timely response as James 2:15-16 instructs us.

  • UNICEF - Founded in 1946, UNICEF advocates and works for the protection of children's rights, to help the young meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential (a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation).
  • United Church of Christ - The Church World Service (CWS) - United Church of Christ (UCC) Resource Unit on Technological Disasters - is a planning, consulting, referral, and resource development service coordinated by UCC staff and volunteers for the wider religious community through the CWS Emergency Response Office.

  • United Methodist Committee on Relief - UMCOR responds by using its experience to show local churches and annual conferences how they can get involved in the most constructive way and by reinforcing local relief efforts with resources provided by the whole church.

  • Volunteers of America - Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, spiritually based organization providing local human service programs and the opportunity for individual and community involvement.

  • Washington Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (WAVOAD) - Following a disaster, WAVOAD convenes its members and other agencies to discuss how they will work together cooperatively in the crisis. WAVOAD does not itself deliver services. Instead, its members independently meet relief and recovery needs within the cooperative framework the organization makes possible. WAVOAD coordinates planning by the many voluntary agencies responding to a disaster so they provide more effective service with less duplication when a disaster strikes.
  • Week of Compassion - Disciples of Christ - The program fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the US and Canada and is part of the Church Finance Council. Week of Compassion works ecumenically through Church World Service, Action by Churches Together, Heifer Project International, One Great Hour of Sharing, ECLOF, and other church partners as well as in close cooperation with the Division of Overseas Ministries and Volunteers in Mission and Refugee and Immigration Ministries in Homeland Ministries.

  • World Relief - World Relief is the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals and represents churches, missionaries and individual believers throughout the United States. The mission of World Relief, as commissioned by the National Association of Evangelicals, is to work with the church in alleviating human suffering worldwide in the name of Christ. It serves as a vital arm of the evangelical church in providing lifesaving aid and development in the world's most critical regions. World Relief assists churches as they minister to victims of disaster, poverty, persecution, and disease.
  • World Vision International - A nonprofit Christian humanitarian organization committed to serving God by working with the poor and oppressed.
